Breckenridge ups the ante on small town holiday charm with the return of Lighting of Breckenridge and Race of the Santas. The first weekend of December kicks off a festive holiday scene in the streets of Breckenridge. Hundreds of Santa look-alikes will run down Main Street in a race to kick-off the holiday season. Hang out post-race to watch the town transform into a real life holiday card thanks to more than 13,000 feet and 250,000 dazzling LED lights. The iconic holiday lights in downtown Breckenridge are one of the most photographed sights during the snowy months and continue to sparkle all winter long.
The race kicks off on Main Street directly in front of the Canteen Tap House (208 N. Main Street) and finishes in Blue River Plaza just in time for the Lighting of Breckenridge.
The first 700 registrants receive a commemorative socks with registration. The first 150 youth registrants for the Moose March receive a moose beanie with registration. Races are not age-restricted -- please select Race of the Santas (running) or Moose March (walking/kids) when registering.
Race of the Santas is a fundraiser for Carriage House Early Learning Center! A portion of the proceeds goes to support Carriage House, Breckenridge’s oldest childcare facility.
Carriage House is dedicated to fostering intellectual, social/emotional and physical development in a high-quality early childhood setting; building meaningful relationships with families and our community, honoring childhood, and inspiring lifelong learners that have a sense of global responsibility.

Santa suits ($35) or Santa hats ($15) can be purchased with registration -- or bring your own!
Bib pick up is Saturday, December 7, 2:00-4:00pm at the Canteen Tap House (208 N. Main Street) Breckenridge.

$30 Adults 18+
$10 Kids 6-17 (Moose March or Race of the Santas)
Cancellation Policy:
Participants may cancel up to 8 days prior to the first day of the program for a refund, less a $3 cancellation charge. Within 8 days of the program, no cancellations or refunds are allowed. If the program does not meet minimum attendance requirement it will be cancelled and customer will be refunded without fees.
